This week we have been very busy in P2 learning about 2D and 3D shapes. The children took part in a 2D shape hunt in the learning garden, drew around 2D shapes to create pets and spring pictures, investigated ‘real life’ 2D shapes in the classroom, and took photographs in the school grounds of ‘real life’ 3D objects. We also created 2D shape property hats on Maths Day and carried out an investigation about Guinea pigs. The investigation involved designing a hutch for five Guinea pigs using 10 lollipop sticks by finding all the possibilities. They worked in pairs and came up with lots of fabulous ideas. What a special week! 🔶🟩💜🔴
