As part of our World Book Day celebrations, each class was given a wrapped up 'Mystery Book' during our special assembly.
We talked about how when we choose books from our library or when visiting a book shop, we use the front cover, blurb and pictures to make our choice. Because the books were wrapped up we couldn't use any of these clues! We took the books back to our classrooms and opened them. We then had to fill in our Mystery Book Challenge to see if we would have chosen that book if we had been able to see the front cover! However, what we discovered was that we did enjoy the stories even if they weren't ones we would have chosen.
