This week P3 used their creative and mathematical skills to go shopping. In groups they selected a theme for their own shop, gave it a name, selected items to sell, and added price labels between 10p and 20p for each item. Individually the children ‘went shopping’ and bought 2 items. They used a mental maths strategy to work out the total and the paid the shopkeepers the correct amount of money. Back in their groups they then worked out how much profit they had made. It was lovely to see the children applying their math knowledge, be imaginative and have lots of fun doing so.
