Mrs McIlroy and Mrs Braniff chose 6 children at random from the eco-committee to attend an Eco-Schools award ceremony at Belfast City Hall. We travelled by bus which was exciting! We were presented with our 10th green flag and were awarded 1st prize in the Wheelie Big Challenge and won £500 for the school! There were speeches by the Lord Mayor and Ulster Wildlife. We had a hot buffet lunch, participated in a quiz, celebrated other schools’ successes and got the bus home. Well done to all the children and parents involved in helping to achieve our green flag through keeping the school grounds tidy, planting, recycling, reducing our non-recyclable waste, weeding and developing new initiatives.
