We decided to build a bridge to help the gingerbread man get across the river. We looked at different materials we might use to build our bridge such as paper, card, wood, bricks and metal. We discovered that paper and card were not strong enough and the poor gingerbread man fell into the water. The wood, bricks and metal were strong enough to let the gingerbread man across the river. We looked at some real bridges from around the world and talked about what materials they were made from.
