For your diary
Friends and family of Belmont pupils met in Shorts Recreation Sports & Social Club for the annual PTA Table Quiz.
PTA were delighted to have Sam back asking the questions and hosting the night. He didn’t disappoint. There was a broad range of topics and eras covered throughout the 8 rounds of questions.
There were a few personal battles going on, including a couple of tables of parents answering questions for playground honour.
The popular Play Your Cards Right game was back with 2 walking away with cash prizes and again 50% of the money raised is going to the school charity. In addition to this many joined Sam on the dance floor for Heads & Tails, for just £1 the winner walked away with a case of wine.
A big thank you has to go to all the companies who donated prizes for the raffle and sponsored the night. Without these local companies the night wouldn’t have been a success. If you can show your support to these businesses by using their goods or services please do and mention Belmont PTA.
The success of the 2016 quiz made it a hard act to follow but judging by the feedback this year’s quiz was a resounding success. The money raised also showed just how successful the night was by raising a fantastic £1515.
Belmont PTA would like to thank you all for your continued support and for those that aren’t Belmont parents but just like a good quiz see you next year.
With grateful thanks to our sponsors.
Your Chairperson is Sacha Patterson leading the PTA in the pursuit of fun and fundraising. We encourage you to become involved with the PTA in whatever capacity you can and welcome new and existing parents at the school to join us.
Without the support of all the parents, carers and teachers at the school, the PTA couldn't fund projects that have added so much value to the children's education and enjoyment of Belmont Primary School. The aim is not just fundraising; it's also about increasing the values of our school community and creating unique bonds across the school family that makes Belmont Primary School feel like a special place to be part of. It's a great way to get to know other parents particularly if you are a new parent to the school. It also gives the children a real sense of belonging. If you'd like to get involved, in any way you can, please contact us and we look forward to welcoming you onboard!
"I remember that first PTA meeting, hesitantly walking into the staff room and instantly recognising some faces from the P1 playground and my daughter’s new class. I quickly found it to be an extremely welcoming group of people, collectively pulling together for a common cause - fundraising for the school and knowing that in some way we are bettering the school environment and educational experience for our children."
Funds Raised 2015/2016
In the 2015/2016 academic year, events organised by the PTA raised over £8,500.
If you have any ideas (no matter how unusual they are) that have the potential to raise funds for the school or are aware of funding opportunities that we could tap into, please email email@example.com.

The success of any PTA event is due to the support provided by it’s volunteers. A number of our events are limited in size simply due to insufficient volunteers to man the various activities we propose to offer. This year we are planning to make events bigger and better. To do that we will need your help, therefore we are launching a PTA membership drive. We are asking for parents, grandparents and friends to register to help support our PTA events. You can provide support in a number of ways, you can attend PTA meetings, give us your ideas, volunteer your time organising events, give time to help set up, help man a stall or help with special skills e.g. photography.
